Il progetto elettroacustico e-cor ensemble è stato selezionato tra le 100 eccellenze under 35 nel prestigioso catalogo "Lazio Creativo - 100 storie di creatività 2018", promosso dalla Regione Lazio e dalla Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri. A fronte di una massiccia partecipazione di artisti, innovatori e collettivi da tutto il territorio regionale, la commissione scientifica ha operato una scrematura rigidissima, ammettendo soltanto 10 progetti per l'intera categoria Musica. In questo contesto altamente competitivo, l'e-cor ensemble si è distinto posizionandosi al secondo posto assoluto della classifica di merito, venendo così celebrato all'interno di un reportage narrativo e fotografico volto a mappare il futuro dell'innovazione culturale italiana.

LAZIO CREATIVO 100 storie di creatività è un vero e proprio reportage narrativo e fotografico sulla creatività nel Lazio che mette in mostra ogni anno 100 progetti e talenti under 35 più innovativi e interessanti del territorio, selezionati attraverso l’omonimo Contest.

L’iniziativa, promossa da Regione Lazio nell’ambito del Programma Lazio Creativo, in collaborazione con LAZIOcrea e Lazio Innova, ha visto la partecipazione di oltre 100 progetti candidati per le 10 categorie del concorso: arte e fotografia; architettura e design; moda; comunicazione visiva e pubblicità; editoria, illustrazione e fumetto; musica; teatro, danza e performance; cinema; nuove tecnologie e web; start up culturali e creative.

Le storie dei 100 creativi sono state raccontate da 10 scrittori under 35.

E-Cor Ensemble - Review

Ogni avanguardia artistica cammina su un ponte pericolante: alcune sono tanto sterili da precipitare nel baratro senza lasciare traccia, altre sono così propulsive da arrivare all’altro capo e rivoluzionare la semantica. Forse, più che l’ispirazione, non a caso aborrita da uno sperimentatore qual era Flaubert, conta lo studio costante e il lavoro artigiano. 

Proprio sull’indagine quotidiana, intesa nella duplice accezione di ricerca sul suono e di confronto con i maestri, si fonda la radicalità del progetto “E-cor Ensemble”, nato dall’iniziativa di tre studenti del conservatorio Respighi di Latina. Una musica destrutturata, cacofonica, che condivide gli intenti subliminali dell’arte acusmatica.  Un susseguirsi di paesaggi espressionistici che si presta al dialogo con la video-arte come alla sonorizzazione di film muti: il lavoro sulle immagini di “Vormittagsspuk”, filmato sperimentale di Hans Richter, vale all’ensemble una lunga serie di premi e riconoscimenti. Le continue collaborazioni con nomi di punta della scena sperimentale e i numerosi live internazionali, costruiti sull’improvvisazione, ne ampliano le possibilità espressive.

L’apice dell’interazione multimediale è la trasposizione drammatica del Cuore rivelatore. Deformato attraverso la violenza grottesca di Carmelo Bene e la lezione dello scollamento dal testo promossa dal teatro di Artaud, il racconto di Poe si trasforma nelle mani dell’ensemble in un inquietante collage vicino all’incubo, in cui il suono contrappunta il recitato ora assecondandolo, ora negandolo, ora indifferente. Quando è stato portato in scena, i bimbi in sala si attaccavano alle gonnelle delle mamme: se è vero che la provoca-zione fisica è il primo obiettivo dell’avanguardia, questa pare una bella investitura.

The electroacoustic project e-cor ensemble was selected as one of the top 100 under-35 creative excellences in the prestigious catalog "Lazio Creativo - 100 Stories of Creativity 2018", promoted by the Lazio Region and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Facing massive participation from artists, innovators, and collectives across the entire regional territory, the scientific committee carried out an extremely rigorous screening process, admitting only 10 projects for the entire Music category. Within this highly competitive context, e-cor ensemble stood out by ranking second overall in the final merit standings, earning its place in a narrative and photographic reportage dedicated to mapping the future of Italian cultural innovation.

"LAZIO CREATIVO: 100 Stories of Creativity" is a comprehensive narrative and photographic reportage on creativity within the Lazio region. Every year, it showcases the 100 most innovative and compelling projects and talents under the age of 35, selected through the contest of the same name.

The initiative is promoted by the Lazio Region as part of the Lazio Creativo Program, in collaboration with LAZIOcrea and Lazio Innova. The competition received over 100 project submissions across 10 distinct categories: art and photography; architecture and design; fashion; visual communication and advertising; publishing, illustration, and comics; music; theater, dance, and performance; cinema; new technologies and the web; and cultural and creative startups.

The stories of the 100 creatives were written and told by 10 authors under the age of 35.

E-Cor Ensemble - Review

Every new art movement walks a precarious path: some are so sterile that they plunge into the abyss without trace, others have sufficient drive to get to the other side and revolutionize the semantics. Perhaps, rather than inspiration - not by accident abhorred by an experimenter like Gustave Flaubert - it’s constant study and meticulous work that counts. It is actually on daily exploration - understood as the dual sense of research into sound and comparison with the Masters - that the radical nature of the “E-cor Ensemble” project is based on and it is the result of an initiative by three students from the Respighi conservatoire in Latina.

Deconstructed, cacophonous music that shares the subliminal intents of acousmatic music. A succession of expressionistic soundscapes open to dialogue with video art as well as soundtracking for silent films: the work on the images of Hans Richter’s experimental film “Vormittagsspuk” won the ensemble a series of prizes and awards. Ongoing collaborations with key figures in the experimental music scene and numerous live performances around the world, focusing on improvisation, expand the group’s expressive possibilities. The apex of their multimedia interaction came with the dramatic adaptation of The Tell-Tale Heart. Distorted by the grotesque violence of Carmelo Bene and by the estrangement from the text learned from the Artaudian technics, in the hands of the ensemble Poe’s short story becomes a disturbing collage close to nightmare, in which sound provides a counterpoint for performance, sometimes following, sometimes cancelling it out and sometimes indifferent. When it was staged, children in the audience grabbed their mothers’ skirts: if physical provocation is really the primary aim of avant-garde, this seems to be a pretty good investiture.
